Free Jazz Event: Diane Delin, Jazz Improvisation for Strings Master Class

Diane is a Chicago icon in Jazz violin.  She has been voted as DownBeat magazine's "Rising Star" four times, has performed at jazz festivals in Europe, New York City and Chicago and has recorded 5 jazz CD's on the BlueJazz label.  She has played with Frank Sinatra, Manhattan Transfer, Ray Charles, Gladys Knight and many others.  She is also an outstanding jazz educator and teaches at Columbia College/Chicago.

Diane's Masterclass will include her own performance and will also address "Jazz Rhythms and Bow Placement", "Left Hand Techniques for Stylistic Jazz Articulation" and "How to Develop a Musical Improvised Statement".  Diane will also distribute information on jazz string players and selected jazz recordings for listening.

Ms. Delin will be bringing jazz arrangements for participants at the class to play with her.
