The Angry Stone of Acolco: Musical Folk Tales of Mexico is the ninth world premiere musical written by program directors Matt Boresi (words) and Mike O’Mara (music). The show incorporates and celebrates Mexico’s rich heritage - from ancient Aztec folk tales and myths to modern legends. With a host of colorful characters and a samba-infused score, don’t miss the beauty and drama of these cherished stories from south of the border.
The MIC Company ensembles will present “The Angry Stone” in two parts, with Act One premiering part one May 3-5 and Act Two bringing to life part two May 10-12 at the Dempster Street Theater. Free to those with a ticket from a prior performance, the complete “Angry Stone,” parts one and two will be presented in a special performance at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 15 at Nichols Hall (1490 Chicago Avenue) in downtown Evanston.
