"I spent five years' worth of Saturdays learning string quartets under the instruction of Stan Ackerman, who is the reason I am now a professional violinist. I learned Mozart, Haydn, Dvorak ("American!"), Schubert ("Death & The Maiden!"), Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms string quartets, Brahms sextet, and my two all-time favorites, Schubert cello quintet and Mendelssohn Octet. While other high school kids were hanging out at the mall, I was falling in love with chamber music."

- Alison Peters Fujito, Violinist, Pittsburgh Symphony, Music Institute of Chicago Alumna.
