Broadway Bound (Grades 4*-8)
Broadway Bound presents: Starfall, a musical fairy tale Grades 4-8* | 90 minutes
Saturdays 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Classes Online via Zoom
We have altered the curriculum to be well-suited to provide acting, dancing, and singing fundamentals in a virtual, supportive art-making environment. Accompaniment/backing tracks will be used, students will experiment with virtual backgrounds, and focus on smaller movements versus large-scale staging. Students will be learning the same skills as an in person musical theater class, and putting on a really creative and innovative performance at the end!
Due to the move to virtual instruction, we will be working on an original show named Starfall, written by Broadway Bound director, Annabelle Revak.
Starfall is a musical fairy tale. Celia and Ash are two very unlikely friends: Celia lives in the stars, and Ash lives underground. On the evening of a great flood, Ash finds their way to the Earth's surface for the first time, and meets Celia. They are fascinated by each others' worlds, and struggle to understand each other while not being able to see each other. They must learn to show their friendship for one another in new ways, with some help from the Moon, the Stars, and a little bit of magic. In the end, the two learn that they can be friends from far away, and that everyone has a different perspective from which they see the world.
*Third graders may be admitted into Broadway Bound with director permission. Please e-mail Matt Boresi.
