Teaching philosophy and areas of expertise:
While Cameren's primary area of expertise is in classical guitar, his goal for all of his students is to make them consummate musicians. That means that every student, young and old, work to build a comprehensive foundation of classical guitar techniques. Those techniques are curated to branch out into any other style or genre of guitar playing with ease. Cameren's teaching style draws lessons, techniques, and etudes from a wealth of great guitarists their diverse schools of study, including Fernando Sor, Dionisio Aguado, Matteo Caracassi, Francisco Tàrrega, Leo Brouwer, and Eduardo Fernández, to create a diverse and inclusive method for studying and perfecting guitar performance. Whether it's discovering music from the rich history of the guitar or learning modern popular music, nothing is more important than loving what music you are playing. It's impossible to learn if you aren't headed towards that which makes you most excited about learning the guitar. Over the years Cameren's commitment to providing his students with their favorite music has resulted in a small library of compositions and arrangements created by him in various levels of complexity. That includes themes from Star Wars, the Beatles, Taylor Swift, themes from the films of Studio Ghibli, and many more! You tell Cameren your goals and your favorite music, and he'll put you on a direct path to make those goals a reality.
