Chamber Music for Youth

Chamber Music (ages 8-18)

All participants must submit an online application. If you are new to the chamber program, you are required to submit a video recording of two contrasting pieces of your choice.

Continuing students must submit a form, however, no video is required. Each semester is 15-weeks in length.


Chamber Music Priority Application Deadline:  July 15

Apply by July 15 to have your registration fee waived and to receive priority placement.


Chamber Music Final Application Deadline:  August 1

Those who apply after August 1 will be added to a waitlist and accommodated if opportunities become available.


Traditional Students  

45 minutes - $330.00 per semester

60 minutes - $438.75 per semester

Suzuki Students at MIC - Suzuki Plus

MIC Suzuki students may enroll in chamber music at the following reduced rates:

45 minutes - $180.75 per semester

60 minutes - $265.50 per semester

In addition to regular chamber music study, the Music Institute of Chicago offers the following specialized chamber music classes for youth:


Duo Piano Chamber Music (ages 8-18)

Learn the art of performing duo-piano chamber music, including piano four hands and piano duo repertoire. Placement interview required.


Class day/time: 1st & 3rd Fridays | 7:30-8:15 pm

Location: Winnetka Campus | 300 Green Bay Road


Instructors: Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem

Cost: $238 per semester
