Private Instruction

There is no better place for private instruction than the Music Institute of Chicago!  Through the Music Institute’s customized approach, students of all ages and levels are expertly matched with teachers who are best suited to their learning style. If you’re new to at-home learning, MIC will make certain you’re set up for success. Our outstanding teachers work with students of all ages and every level of experience. The Music Institute offers instruction in: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, harp, organ, harpsichord, conducting, piano, guitar, voice and composition.

Roots & Rock

Designed for anyone who has been inspired by music and wants to play!  Beginning and intermediate level eight-week sessions for ages 8 and up in guiatar, ukulele, music producation, and songwriting. Enjoy a friendly and comfortable social backdrop as you build and expand your musical skills. 


Musical Theater

From the page to the stage: students grades K-8 work with directors and composers to create musicals that utilize the unique talents of those participating.  Everyone has a chance to shine! 



MIC's jazz program is celebrating its 10th anniversary season. Explore the world of jazz through private instruction, improvisation classes, and combos!
