Injoo Choi is an active performer and a teacher, has toured to Asia and Europe and continues to perform as the substitute of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago.  She frequently performs with the Chicago Philharmonic, Camerata Chicago, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Music Now.
During the summer seasons, Injoo performs at the Grant Park Music Festival as the first violinist of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Injoo has been an active chamber musician and has performed in South America, Asia, and the major cities throughout US and Canada. Some of her collaborations are with violinist Earl Carlyss, Ik-Hwan Bae, and Paul Coletti. She also performs frequently with her husband, Sung Hoon Mo, as a violin-piano duo. She has been heard on NPR’s Performance Today.
Native of Seoul, Korea, violinist Injoo Choi won first prize at the Korea-Times National Music Competition at the age of ten. Since then, Injoo has won awards from a number of national competitions including the National Federation of Music Club, Society of American Musicians, Baltimore Music Club Competition, and was the finalist at the Stulberg International String Competition.  Her teachers include Sylvia Rosenberg, Miriam Fried, Josef Gingold, Yuval Yaron, and Myron Kartman. She received her Bachelor of Music at the Indiana University and the Master’s Degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Injoo Choi is a faculty member at the Music Institute of Chicago.  Her students have won numerous local and national competitions.
