MIC Concert Band Director

The primary purpose of this position is the management of the MIC Concert Band. This includes serving as conductor for the MIC Concert Band and overseeing the operations of the program. The MIC Concert Band Director conducts rehearsals and concerts and make repertoire selections for the MIC Concert Band.
Principal Responsibilities
- Organize dress rehearsal schedules, concert dates, music purchases, and personnel needs in consultation with the Dean.
- Take attendance at rehearsals and communicate with the Registration and Billing Manager regarding participants who are not registered properly.
- Oversee music library and musical instrument inventory.
- Submit program and personnel roster to the Marketing & Communications Coordinator for concert programs.
- Confirm room schedules for rehearsals and sectionals.
- Coordinate dates and venues for performance opportunities.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in music related field (Master's preferred)
Experience Requirements: A minimum of two years of conducting experience
This part-time position reports to Emily Abraham, Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs.
- PT Hours/Week: 6 ½ (conducting) + 1-3 (administrative)
- Salary Range: commensurate with experience
