Musikgarten Demos for Families

July 23-26, 2018

Musikgarten Demos for Families - You're Invited!
Evanston East Campus | 1490 Chicago Avenue (at Grove Street)

The Music Institute of Chicago is pleased to invite you and your child to participate in free Musikgarten demonstration classes. MIC was selected to host national Musikgarten teacher training workshops this summer. As part of the training, participants have the opportunity to observe daily demonstration classes.

We have several demonstration classes scheduled for the week of July 23rd and invite you and your child to come and participate in these free classes, or to pass this message along to friends or family who might be interested in participating.

FAMILY MUSIC FOR BABIES (birth- 16 months)

Each child must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving, and singing. A foundation for singing and musical thought is established through activities designed to increase your child's curiosity about music, develop listening skills, and build a sense of beat through movement. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all Musikgarten classes.

MUSIC MAKERS AT THE KEYBOARD (ages 6 - 9)
Wednesday, July 25 and Thursday, July 26 | 3:30 - 4:30 pm

RSVP Now >>
The same group of children must be present both days.

Small group lessons at the keyboard capitalize on your child’s delight in making music with others and allow the children to have success quickly playing songs that they know. A much-loved piano repertoire of familiar songs improves his ability to read and play with fluency – resulting in pride and excitement in making music! Notation games, repertoire pieces, sight-reading pieces, opportunities for composing, and more are presented to help your child stay excited about playing and encourage him to make music long after the lessons stop.
