Musikgarten: Music Makers I - At Home in the World (Ages 4-6)

Students will develop skills to establish the foundation for musical literacy, expand their listening capabilities, build self-discipline and social skills through ensemble development, and cultivate skills that impact all academic learning.  Class activities and objectives include dramatizing folk tales, coordinating body and voice, training the ear, and establishing fundamental musical skills. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all Musikgarten classes.

$30 registration fee for new student applies.

Spring semester classes begin Monday, January 28, 2019

Specialists agree that early exposure to music plays an important role in children's emotional, intellectual and social development. Developmentally appropriate activities build fundamental musical skills and help prepare children for a wide range of music and school activities.

Teachers

Our Musikgarten® teachers are highly trained professionals with classroom and field experience in early childhood music education and child development.

Curriculum

Musikgarten®’s programs are based on meeting the developmental needs of children as they grow.  Favorite songs, stories and dances are revisited throughout — building on what each child has mastered and enjoyed and making successful learning easier.

Family Involvement

Learning continues throughout the week in the home environment.  Musikgarten® participants receive CDs, family activity guides and simple instruments that parents may use as they continue making music with their child at home.
