Musikgarten: Music Makers II - Around the World (Ages 5-7)
This class explores the music of the British Isles, Germany and our Amerindian and African American heritage. It features songs, dances, stories, rituals and customs of these cultures to enhance your child's cultural awareness. The curriculum builds on skills for developing music literacy, including symbolic thinking, concentration, and memory and incorporates activities for self-expression, creative movement, and ensemble work. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all Musikgarten classes.
Specialists agree that early exposure to music plays an important role in children's emotional, intellectual and social development. Developmentally appropriate activities build fundamental musical skills and help prepare children for a wide range of music and school activities.
$30 registration fee applies to all new students
Spring semester classes begin Monday, January 28, 2019
Teachers
Our Musikgarten® teachers are highly trained professionals with classroom and field experience in early childhood music education and child development.
Curriculum
Musikgarten®’s programs are based on meeting the developmental needs of children as they grow. Favorite songs, stories and dances are revisited throughout — building on what each child has mastered and enjoyed and making successful learning easier.
Family Involvement
Learning continues throughout the week in the home environment. Musikgarten® participants receive CDs, family activity guides and simple instruments that parents may use as they continue making music with their child at home.
