Intermezzi Beethoven Festival features MIC faculty

December 15-20, 2020 | Beethoven 250
Celebrating Beethoven's brilliance: from darkness into light

Voice faculty Angela De Venuto and Leo Radosavljevic have curated a free festival celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven's birth through a new digital international performing arts company, Intermezzi, LLC.

Angelal described the project saying, "Leo and I have programmed a festival which has been produced completely socially distanced and covid safe! This all started because Leo was invited by the American Beethoven Society to be a guest lecturer this past fall, but of course it was postponed. We couldn’t let such an occasion go by without doing something big and through generous sponsorship, and the necessary outlet for music making and collaboration for our colleagues around the world, we have quite a lineup of artists! We’re very excited to share the brilliance that is Beethoven for healing during this especially difficult part of an extra difficult year."

The festival will include three solo piano recitals, two vocal recitals, and a gala concert involving many musicians of varying disciplines. Music Institute of Chicago festival performers include:

Leo Radosavljevic: MIC voice faculty, Met Opera National Council Regional finalist, pianist
Angela De Venuto: MIC voice faculty, Classical Singer Emerging Professional Grand prize winner, Met Opera National Council Regional finalist
Matthew Lipman: violist and MIC Academy alumnus, 2019 Artist-in-Residence for the American Viola Society, Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient

George Radosavljevic:  MIC piano faculty and avid lecture recitalist throughout the midwest
