The Music Institute of Chicago is pleased to present Frank Wibaut in two special virtual master classes featuring Suzuki piano students from the Barston Suzuki Center.  

 


International pianist and teacher, FRANK WIBAUT, started his performing career after winning the London Chopin and BBC piano competitions. He has played in over 35 countries and has a performed repertoire of 90 concerti with all the major British and many worldwide orchestras, including the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra in Japan. His broad solo repertoire includes many world premiers and he plays chamber music with many leading international musicians.

He was formerly Professor of piano at the Royal College and at the Royal Academy of Music, where he also became the Head of Postgraduate Performance Studies. He has been Director of several international summer schools and the Australian National Academy of Music and a visiting professor in 6 countries including Japan. He teaches regularly in Tokyo and in many other major cities and is also a regular Professor at the Mozarteum Summer Academy in Salzburg. He receives many invitations to be on the jury of both national and international competitions and for ten years was the Founding Artistic Director and Chairman of the jury of the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition.
