Nichols Concert Hall COVID-19 Status Updates

Last Updated: March 18, 2020

The COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve quickly. The Music Institute of Chicago has adopted the following policies in order to ensure the safety of our faculty, staff, and students. They are also a part of our community’s overall effort to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

  • Effective Wednesday, March 18 at 5 pm, Nichols Concert Hall is closed indefinitely pending updates from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Governor of Illinois.
  • All concerts and events at Nichols Concert Hall as well as other MIC performances venues have been postponed or cancelled.
  • All student rehearsals, performances, and recording sessions are postponed until further notice.

The Music Institute intends to return to normal operation as soon as it is safe to do so. We understand that MIC plays an important role in the lives of so many. With that in mind, we will continue to find responsible and creative ways to accomplish our mission to lead people toward a lifelong engagement with music by providing widely accessible resources for high-quality music teaching, performing, and service activities. We will continue to provide updates as they are available and encourage you to check back to the website and facebook page for more information. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
