Education: 

Aimee Biasiello has degrees in Viola Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Chicago College of Performing Arts. She is currently pursuing her Illinois State Teaching Certification as a part of the Teacher Licensure Program at Northeastern Illinois University.

Some of Ms. Biasiello's significant teachers and mentors over the years include: Desiree Ruhstrat from the Music Institute of Chicago, Jeffrey Irvine and Lynne Ramsey from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Roger Chase from the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

Teaching philosophy and areas of expertise: 

Aimee's philosophy relates to how important she feels having a personal connection with her students is, in order to help them achieve a higher level of musical success. She believes that with poper instruction and guidance, every child can learn to express themselves musically.

Awards and achievements: 

For the past six years, Aimee has coordinated the chamber program at Stevenson High School, which was recently named a National School of Distinction in Arts Education by the Kennedy Center. She has coached and mentored more than 100 students annually in the school’s three-month chamber music intensive, a program which has few peers in the Midwest. Aimee’s passion for chamber music has lead her to play alongside members of the Boston-based QX Quartet and the Grammy nominated Lincoln Trio, as well as on Chicago radio stations WBEZ and WFMT, the a.pe.ri.od.ic New Music Series, the Music Institute of Chicago’s Faculty and Guest Artist Series, the International Chamber Artist’s Season and at the Casalmaggiore International Chamber Music Festival in Cremona, Italy.  The founding violist of Chicago Q Ensemble, her trio has presented at the TEDx conference at RushU, and as the inaugural ensemble at the inception concert for the American Music Project, and at the Savvy Musician in Action Chamber Music Competition as a national finalist. Aimee has coached with members of the Cleveland, Vermeer, and Cavani Quartets, as well as Mimi Zweig, at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. She regularly performs as a member of Camerata Chicago’s viola section, as well as with the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra. Aimee serves on chamber music and violin/viola faculty at the Music Institute of Chicago and Adlai E. Stevenson High School. 

Professional affiliations & activities: 

Aimee dedicates a good portion of her time that is away from teaching to another area of interest that she is equally as passionate about: Chamber Music. She is a co-founder and violist of an all-female classical string quartet called Chicago Q Ensemble. This group is dedicated to creating musical experiences which uplift and engage everyone who is involved. The groups mission is to help create a vibrant community of 21st-century musicians, collaborators, and listeners, and most importantly, to have fun while doing it.

Interests outside of music: 

Aside from her musical obligations, Ms. Biasiello enjoys reading, riding her bike, people watching, and camping.

Favorite composer or piece to play: 

Definitely Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Also - new music!
