JOIN US! We are seeking part-time weekend receptionist candidates interested in working in a music-filled environment at our beautiful Winnetka campus.

Weekend Part-time Hours
Most weeks, the Receptionist will work a minimum of 10 hours per week, with the following typical schedule:

Saturday 3:45 PM-9 PM
Sunday 2:15 PM-8 PM
Subbing when needed.

Special Note About Winnetka Hours: We often offer extra shifts when in need of campus coverage on days/times outside scheduled hours.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidates are friendly and courteous with pleasant personalities. They have excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. Familiarity with music is desirable, but not required. Demonstrated excellence in providing customer service is required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service and Administrative Assistance
•    Screen guests and admit them into the building.
•    Answer incoming calls and greet visitors; respond to inquiries or direct to other departments as appropriate.
•    Describe MIC programs and assist families with registration, locating classes, and reserving practice rooms.
•    Utilize MS Word, Excel, and ASAP to complete projects as directed by Campus Director.
•    Handle routine billing questions and address changes using ASAP.
•    Process tuition and room rental payments.
•    Ensure current MIC health and safety protocols are being followed by teachers and students

Office Maintenance:
•    Lock and unlock building and rooms.
•    Maintain orderliness and setup of lobby, teaching rooms, and restrooms. May include moving instruments, equipment, chairs, and music stands as needed.
•    Notify the Campus Director of building maintenance issues and when supplies need to be ordered.

 

Competencies:
•    Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via email
•    Strong proficiency with MS Word and Excel
•    Ability to learn ASAP software
•    Strong math aptitude to calculate tuition charges
•    Promptness and reliability
•    Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly throughout the day
•    Ability to go up and down stairs
•    Ability to lift 25 pounds (moving chairs, music stands, etc.)

 

Qualifications and Skills (Required)
•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Minimum of 1 year experience providing excellent customer service
•    Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
•    Friendly, courteous demeanor


COVID-19 considerations:
All current and new employees are required to be fully vaccinated, including one booster. Proof of vaccination status will be required. Masks are optional at the administrative offices but required at teaching campuses and Nichols Concert Hall.
