ROOTS AND ROCK: GUITAR II (ages 11-14)
GUITAR II: STEPS AHEAD
If you’ve acquired some of the basics of the guitar and want to get better, you’re ready to explore the many exciting worlds of music that await you. You’ll gain knowledge and confidence on the fretboard, gain confidence in your expanding knowledge of chords, experience the subtle syncopations of fingerstyle and the flash of flatpicking, and use your ever-growing experience to experience the soulful world of the blues, which provides the underpinning for rock, jazz and so much of America’s great musical treasure chest. Along with your fellow guitar players, you’ll learn from the styles of great guitar masters from the worlds of folk, blues, and rock, and more. Revolving repertoire and the regular introduction of new styles, techniques, tips, and tricks will keep you coming back for more, and each session will leave you a better guitar player than the last.
If there is insufficient enrollment in the class, participants will be given the opportunity to receive four 30 minute private lessons in place of the group class.
