A faculty comprised of some of Chicago's most respected jazz musicians

bring a deep knowledge of jazz history and the current jazz scene

into every class and lesson.

Teachers nurture each student's skill and style development as they learn to play

by ear and improvise. MIC jazz students become leaders in their middle and high school jazz programs and enjoy performance opportunities at Nichols Concert Hall as well as community venues.
