Two Big Chamber Music Wins
Congratulations to Quartet Lumiere recent winners of the Open Division of the Discover National Chamber Music Competition and the Society of American Musicians 2013 Jules M. Laser Chamber Music Competition. Both competitions took place in February and are designed to offer educational and competitive experience to young chamber musicians.

At the Discover National Chamber Music Competition, the quartet performed a movement from Kodaly's String Quartet No. 1 and Grieg's String Quartet in G minor. As the overall winners, Quartet Lumiere received a cash prize along with the opportunity to perform at the winner's concert on Sunday, March 3 at the Chicago Cultural Center in downtown Chicago.
The quartet is also winner of the 2013 Jules M. Laser Chamber Music Competition. As the winner, they received a cash prize, and will performe on 98.7 WFMT, at the SAM winners concert and at the Music in the Loft.
