Unit 1 Courses

July 3 - 10, 2022

All Unit 1 courses are scheduled so that participants have the option of taking consecutively both Every Child Can! and Unit 1 over the nine-day period for the
Chicago Suzuki Institute.

Note: participants who previously completed only Unit 1A under the old guidelines must now take the entire Unit 1 course.

The course includes a study of the book one repertoire and also explores many topics useful to a beginning Suzuki teacher.

- Nurturing the Suzuki parent
- Setting up the Student for Successful Study
- Student Motivation
- Group classes
- Studio management

Unit 1 Course lasts 8 days & includes:
- 28 hours of classroom time studying the Book 1 repertoire through lecture,
demonstration teaching and class participation
- 15 hours required observation of Institute classes

Teacher Training Courses are intense and require full-day attendance.

Do not attempt to maintain a schedule outside the institute. Only one short term course may be taken at a time.
