-Asi Matathias, violinist

Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to see legendary virtuoso Pinchas Zukerman work with the next generation of classical talent.

On Monday, May 21 Pinchas Zukerman conducts a master class with Music Institute students, including violinists Julian Rhee and Ria Honda from the Music Institute’s Academy for gifted pre-college musicians; the Kairos String Quartet, consisting of Academy students Julian Rhee (violin/viola), Joshua Brown (violin/viola), Thompson Wang (violin), and Lydia Rhea (cello); and violinist Christian Kim from the Music Institute’s Community Music School. This is Zukerman’s third master class with Music Institute students.  The Music Institute has invited local students and faculty participating in their high school orchestra programs.

PINCHAS ZUKERMAN has remained a phenomenon in the world of classical music for over four decades. His musical genius, prodigious technique and unwavering artistic standards are a marvel to audiences and critics. Devoted to the next generation of musicians, he has inspired younger artists with his magnetism and passion. His enthusiasm for teaching has resulted in innovative programs in London, New York, China, Israel and Ottawa. The name Pinchas Zukerman is equally respected as violinist, violist, conductor, pedagogue and chamber musician.

“Zukerman again seemed the forever-young virtuoso: expressively resourceful, infectiously musical, technically impeccable, effortless. As usual, it was a joy to be in his musical company.”
