Basic Teaching Philosophy or Special Music Interests/Specialties

I believe in working with each student as an individual to help set and achieve goals that are right for them. I encourage my students to be curious, to explore their own strengths and weaknesses, and to treat mistakes as valuable data from which to learn. I hope to assist each student in developing a lifelong love for music.

Interests/hobbies outside of music
A few of my favorite things…
What does music mean to you?

To me, music means connection. Sharing music with each other, whether as students, teachers, performers, or audience members, strengthens our ties to our families, communities, and ourselves.

Outside of music, I love hiking, cycling, strong coffee, and a good book.

My favorite book is Dune; favorite TV show is Fargo; and my favorite food is a hearty soup with good crusty bread. It's hard to pick a favorite composer, but I'll say currently I'm loving doing a deep dive into Beethoven's late string quartets.
