Chamber Music

Supercharge your musical development through the Music Institute of Chicago's comprehensive chamber music program.  Both a nurturing and challenging program for students of all ages, chamber musicians explore the rich and varied chamber music repertoire through weekly coachings while making new friends and enjoying regular performance opportunities in informal settings, through community outreach, and at beautiful Nichols Concert Hall in downtown Evanston.

Summer Session begins:  June 15, 2021
All classes taught online via Zoom

If you would like to join a class now, please contact Guin Grimstad at 847.905.1500 ext 133.

Special Note:

Chamber groups in 2020-2021 are anticipated to take place with a combination of online and in-person rehearsals. Coachings will occur using online instruction via Zoom and involve individual work using the Acapella app. This app allows students to easily record their parts individually and layer them with the other parts in their ensemble to create chamber music recordings.

As re-opening during the COVID-19 pandemic progresses, chamber groups may have the opportunity to meet for periodic in-person coachings in Nichols Concert Hall, where musicians and coaches can be safely spaced according to proper social distancing guidelines.

Students studying privately outside the Music Institute are welcome to participate in the MIC chamber music program.
