Chamber Music Mondays for Woodwinds and Brass
(ages 11-18)
Summer activities filling up your schedule and you can't fit in a music summer camp?
Join MIC's chamber music class on Monday nights! Each two-hour class will consist of a coaching of your chamber music group and a rehearsal/social time on your own. You will sightread music and decide as a group what pieces you will play. Learn how to play together without a conductor. Chamber music encourages team building, friendship, and musical skills.Groups will be formed based on similar ages and abilities, so bring your friends!
Day/Time: Mondays at 7:00 PM

Summer Chamber Music for Adults
This class explores chamber music throughout music history looking at how ensembles developed and changed over time, compositions for different instruments, its role in society. This class will also serve as a way for adult musicians to connect with one another to find partners to play with during the year.
Day/Time: Thursdays at 4:00 PM | 120 minutes
June 15 - July 27 (NO CLASSES July 1-7)

Quintet Attacca Chamber Music Camp for Adults
Back by popular demand, the Music Institute of Chicago presents its annual summer chamber music program for woodwind and brass players, but this time it’s only for adults! Wind quintets, trios, and quartets will participate in daily rehearsals, coachings, and master classes with Quintet Attacca, an MIC ensemble-in-residence and winner of the 2002 Grand Prize of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Immerse yourself in chamber music for the weekend and develop your craft as a performer, communicator, and musician.
The best performances in chamber music come from groups who trust each other and have fun together. Quintet Attacca Chamber Music Camp for Adults brings it all together! We welcome flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba players.

Students studying privately outside the Music Institute are welcome to participate in the MIC chamber music program.
Supercharge your musical development through the Music Institute of Chicago's comprehensive chamber music program. Both a nurturing and challenging program for students of all ages, chamber musicians explore the rich and varied chamber music repertoire through weekly coachings while making new friends and enjoying regular performance opportunities in informal settings, through community outreach, and at beautiful Nichols Concert Hall in downtown Evanston.
