The Music Institute of Chicago’s Roots & Rock classes explore America’s great contributions across a broad musical landscape. Discover the common roots shared across these traditions, build a solid musical foundation, and make your own musical voice heard!

Roots & Rock classes are an easy way to make music and friends while building or expanding your musical skills in a friendly and comfortable setting. Enjoy:

  • Beginning and intermediate level group classes led by some of the area’s most seasoned performers and teachers
  • Dig into the rich history and culture behind the music
  • Progress at the pace most comfortable for you  through eight-week sessions
