The Music Institute of Chicago's Institute for Therapy through the Arts (ITA) professional development division supports the treatment of ITA’s clientele, furthers the education and reinforce the efforts of our professional creative arts therapists, fosters the growth of future creative arts therapists, and increases awareness of the uses of the creative arts modalities among mental health and social service professionals in Chicagoland and beyond. For years, ITA has been offering workshops and trainings for social service agencies, school districts, and others.

In this workshop, presenter Jeffrey Wolfe will cover the following learning objectives with participants:
  - Identification of behaviors related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  - Current research trends in music with ASD
  - How to implement creative arts strategies in order to promote peer interactions
  - Use of the creative arts and differentiated learning techniques for individuals with ASD

 


Jeffrey Wolfe, MT-BCAbout the Presenter:  Jeffrey Wolfe, MT-BC
Jeffrey is a board-certified music therapist.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in percussion from the University of Akron and is currently completing his Master's of Music in Music Therapy with an emphasis in counseling from Ohio University.  He holds a Neurologic Music Therapy certification from the Center for Biomedical Research in Music in Colorado.
