Other Ways to Give

Thank you for your support of the Music Institute of Chicago! Whether you are considering a planned gift, or wish to make a contribution through a gift of stock, donor advised fund, airline mile or instrument donation, the Development Office is here to assist you. Please call 847.448.8347 with questions or to learn more about the following opportunities.

Gifts of Stock

You may wish to consider a stock contribution, as the market is favorable. Magnify the impact of your year-end giving by making a larger donation from a smaller initial investment while avoiding capital gains, and receiving a full tax-deduction on your gift. Please email our contact, Robert Moriarty at Merrill Lynch(rmoriarty@ml.com) in advance of making a gift of stock. Please make sure to mention “Music Institute Stock Gift” in the message line of your email, and cc: dpatel@musicinst.org.

Estate & Planned Gifts

The Marjorie Topaz Society recognizes individuals who have included the Music Institute of Chicago in their estate plans. Bequests of all sizes help the Music Institute ensure the future of its high-level educational programming and outreach. Through a planned gift, donors benefit their longtime financial planning while providing critical funds that underwrite scholarships, program and/or Faculty Chair endowments, and community outreach. The Music Institute would be honored to work with you on establishing your planned gift’s designation.

Airline Miles

The Music Institute can use airline miles to assist students' travel to national and international competitions, summer camp activities and auditions. Priority is given to those students who are most in-need of financial assistance.

Donate an Instrument

We have many students who cannot afford to buy or rent instruments.  We are especially interested in small violins and trumpets in working order for our outreach programming in the inner city.
