Led by conductor James Setapen, the Academy Chamber Orchestra will perform an exciting program of string orchestra favorites featuring works by Norman Leyden, W. A. Mozart, Manuel Ponce, Henryk Wieniawski, Samuel Adler, and Béla Bartók.

 

About the Academy

Founded in 2006, the Music Institute of Chicago Academy is a nationally recognized training center for highly gifted, pre-college pianists and string players. The Academy provides a comprehensive musical education for students who aspire to be professional musicians. A carefully assembled faculty includes internationally recognized teachers and performers with a passion for developing young talent and an established track record of student achievement. The Academy Chamber Orchestra is comprised of advanced high school violin, viola, cello and bass students who perform in competitions, festivals and summer programs across the globe.
