Would you like to build dexterity, improve your intonation, and bring your technique to a higher level? Â
MIC faculty member Sarah Plum will help you accomplish these important goals! There are a variety of levels of classes for students who have minimal experience playing 3-octave scales through advanced, pre-professional high school and college students.
Key components
•  Learn, dissect, and perfect 3-octave scales
•  Work on and refine shifting and intonation from a unique perspective
•  Build dexterity
•  Learn how to integrate scales into daily practice
Level 1
This class is for students who have some experience playing in 5th position, have completed Suzuki Book 4 or repertoire of a similar level, and are ready to begin to learn 3-octave scales.
Level 2Â (offered in-person or online)
This class is for students who can confidently play five or six 3-octave scales and would like to improve them, possibly in preparation for all-state or other competitions.Â
Level 3 (offered in-person or online)
This class is for advanced students who can confidently play most major and minor 3-octave scales. Participants will focus on methods to perfect their scales and work on advanced technique.
