Basic Teaching Philosophy or Special Music Interests/Specialties

I believe the beginning foundations of music theory is important because everything is built upon that. I try to make sure my students understand note reading and rhythm so as to help them feel confident with repertoire and sight reading.

Why study music?

It has been scientifically proven that studying music is not solely for the sake of playing music. While studying music, you not only get the enjoyment of the music you are creating, but also a learning process of patience, perseverance, routine, problem-solving, and much more. It helps people become much more well-rounded parts of society.

What music means to you:

Music is something that can excite me, calm me down, bring back memories, and create feelings/emotions in my body that nothing else on this Earth can do. Music is such a huge part of my everyday life, I cannot even imagine a life with no sound or music.

What you enjoy about teaching at MIC:

It is so exciting to work with students who are currently learning music or are completely new to music/theory and see how eager they are to learn this specialized subject. I strive to help them understand the theory aspects so they can go back to their private lessons and get even more out of that time with their teachers.
