Chamber Music and Ensembles
Making music with others teaches listening, communication, leadership, flexibility, and teamwork while creating meaningful musical friendships. This includes Suzuki group classes to chamber music ensembles/choirs/adult ensembles/jazz groups, and more!
Performance Opportunities
Performing helps students develop confidence, resilience, stage presence, and the ability to communicate through music.
Purposeful Practice
Regular practice transforms instruction into understanding, strengthens technique, reinforces musical concepts, and builds confidence. It also teaches perseverance, focus, and the satisfaction of achieving meaningful goals through consistent effort.
A Path For Every Student
Each student's music education journey is unique.
Students can start or continue their music education pathway at MIC at any point on that journey and customize their experience:
- An infant or toddler can start their journey with Smart Start Early Childhood, preparing them for their very first instrumental lessons one day.
- A young child may take Suzuki lessons and learn ensemble and performance skills in group classes while also learning the early building blocks of music theory in Smart Start Early Childhood classes.
- A teen may take lessons, play chamber music, and take music theory with their peers to enhance their learning and experience.
- An intermediate/ advanced student can further enhance their education by participating in competitions, master classes with distinguished artists, the RCM Certificate Program, and large ensembles.
- Serious, young aspiring professional artists can audition for The Academy.
- An adult student can take voice or instrumental lessons and also enjoy the added benefits of music theory and participating in an ensemble with other adults. (MIC Chorale, MIC Chamber Winds, MIC Concert Band, and more!)
