A Very Good Place to Start!

Smart Start Early Childhood Program at the Music Institute of Chicago

Give your baby, toddler, or preschooler a learning advantage for life with MIC's Smart Start Program.

Looking for a way to introduce your baby, toddler or young child to music?
The Smart Start early childhood program at MIC uses music, supported by other art forms, to teach critical cognitive skills including attention, memory, perception, and cognitive flexibility to young children. In addition to being a wonderful way to spend time with your young child that's just plain fun, the rich cognitive and developmental benefits of beginning music from the earliest possible age are priceless.

Our children have learned countless valuable skills, but the Music Institute has done much more than teach them these skills; it plays a central role in helping them become themselves - for their music is integral to who they are.
