Violinist Julian Rhee Wins MTNA National Competition

Congratulations to violinist Julian Rhee, 15, student of Hye-Sun Lee and resident of Brookfield, WI.  Rhee was named the first place winner of the Music Teachers National Association Senior String Division. The competition was held at the MTNA National Convention in San Antonio, Texas, Sunday, April 3. The Grand Hyatt San Antonio hosted 2,000 music teachers, students and industry experts.

 

MTNA National Competitions are the final tier of the three-tiered competitions held during the MTNA National Conference each year. Julian won the MTNA Wisconsin State and East Central Division competitions to advance to the national competition.

 

The Music Institute of Chicago was also pleased to have the senior and junior MTNA National Composition winners for this year.
