The Piano Intensive Studies Program is an immersive, week-long experience designed to help young pianists make meaningful musical progress in a focused and supportive environment. Each student receives individualized attention through daily private lessons with the Music Institute of Chicago’s outstanding piano faculty, ensuring instruction is tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning style.
In addition to private lessons, students participate in mini-performance classes, masterclasses, and engaging workshops that address essential musical topics such as technique, interpretation, effective practice strategies, ensemble skills, and stage presence. These activities are carefully structured to build confidence, discipline, and artistic expression, while encouraging students to learn from both faculty and peers.
The program offers a well-balanced blend of instruction and inspiration, helping students strengthen technical foundations, deepen musical understanding, and develop confidence as performers. Parents can expect a nurturing yet challenging atmosphere that supports artistic growth, motivation, and a deeper love for music.
Students need to prepare:
- One performance-ready work
- One to two works that are currently a work-in-progress
Students must be present for all scheduled activities each day. Absences may not be made up.
