Would you like to build dexterity, improve your intonation, and bring your technique to a higher level?

MIC faculty member Sarah Plum will help you accomplish these important goals! There are a variety of levels of classes for students who have minimal experience playing 3-octave scales through advanced, pre-professional high school and college students.

Key components

•   Learn, dissect, and perfect 3-octave scales
•   Work on and refine shifting and intonation from a unique perspective
•   Build dexterity
•   Learn how to integrate scales into daily practice

    Prerequisite(s)

    Level 1
This class is for students who have started to learn 3-octave scales but are not proficient at them yet.

    Level 2
This class is for students who can confidently play 5 to 10 3-octave major scales. The instructor will give students new ways to approach scales and become more proficient.

    Level 3
This class will focus on attaining proficiency in all 3-octave major and minor scales. This class will also focus on arpeggios, scales in thirds and octaves, and more.
