Aubrey Faith-Slaker

Aubrey received her Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University, and her Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Illinois.
Throughout her years of performing, Ms. Faith-Slaker was touched by many talented musicians who helped to shape her life and career. Some of these significant instructors include: Carol Leone, David Karp, Sam Holland, Gustavo Romero, Christos Tsitsaros, Andrew Degrado, and Kenneth Drake.
Since 2002, she has maintained a flourishing piano studio first in Texas, then Wyoming, Colorado, and currently Chicago. She teaches piano, music history, music theory and piano pedagogy to students of all ages. Aubrey also worked mentoring new teachers in piano pedagogy practices, pursuing further education and starting their own businesses.
An effective teacher in a masterclass setting and an active performer of solo and chamber music, Aubrey is part of the Suzuki Association, is MTNA certified, and is steadily working in Latin America on completing her studies towards becoming a Suzuki teacher trainer.
Aubrey currently teaches at Sherwood, the Community Music School at Columbia College and is currently the Chicago Campus Site Coordinator for the Music Institute of Chicago
Aside from being extremely passionate about music, Aubrey also enjoys hiking with her dog, cooking for her friends and family, and reading.
