This summer, MIC Academy students are expanding their horizons through a wide range of musical experiences. Whether attending renowned festivals, participating in intensive programs, performing in concerts, or working with distinguished artists, they are making the most of every opportunity. Yellow Barn Young Artists Program  | Putney, Vermont (June 14 - July 3)  

A three-week program for outstanding musicians from ages 13-20 to rehearse and perform a rich array of chamber music. Students perform established chamber works, works by Young Artists Program composers, and the works of the Yellow Barn composer in residence.   
 

Music at Menlo, Smith Family Young Performers Program (Fellowship Program) | Atherton, California (July 16 - August 8)   

A program for enthusiastic string and piano students from age 12 to 19. Students are immersed in a rigorous, nurturing environment where they do an intense exploration of chamber music repertoire under the tutelage of high-level music professionals.   

New England Conservatory Summer Chamber Music Young Artist Program | Boston, Massachusetts (August 8 - August 16)  

The NEC Summer Chamber Music Young Artist Program is a nine-day immersive festival where talented young musicians rehearse and perform alongside Mentor Artists while receiving daily coachings from world-renowned Faculty Artists.

Heifetz Summer Institute String Scholar | Mary Baldwin University – Staunton, Virginia (June 19 - August 2)   

The Heifetz summer program is an immersive, intensive, and often transformative musical experience for our students, built upon the Institute’s decades-long record of leadership and innovation in high-level musical instruction, Performance and Communication Training, practice analytics, personal coaching and mentoring, and industry-leading multimedia production.

Encore Chamber Music Institute Summer Academy | Cleveland, Ohio (May 31 - June 21)   

A three-week program for pre-formed string quartets, solo violinists, solo violists, and solo cellists. 76 students between the ages of 13 to 26 are invited to participate. This program is recommended for young artists who are preparing for competitions, college auditions, and concerts, as well as pre-professionals who want to work intensively, improve artistic and technical skills, and perform in a variety of settings.

Lancaster Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition | Lancaster, Pennsylvania (July 15-16) 

Hosted by the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and proudly sponsored by the Women’s Symphony Association & Friends of the LSO, this prestigious event has been held annually since 1983 under the stewardship of the Women’s Symphony Association, and offers an extraordinary opportunity for talented young musicians to perform with a professional orchestra. 

WFMT Introductions | Chicago, Illinois (July 2026) 

Introductions is WFMT’s weekly Saturday morning program that features talented pre-college classical musicians in the Chicago area.

A seven-week program for young string players that focuses on intensive solo practice, chamber music, and performance preparation.  

Sounding Point Academy | The Colburn School, Los Angeles, California (May 31 - June 14)    

This two-week program gives violists of all ages opportunities to perform for the world’s leading performing artists, master the intricacies of orchestral excerpts, and gain comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of violin performance.

Fredericksburg Music Festival and School | Fredericksburg, Texas (June 7 - June 21)  

Cello Festival Program for the Extraordinarily Gifted (PEG) & Fellowship 

This program offers the opportunity for young cellists to work with world-renowned faculty in masterclasses, recitals, and lessons.

Midwest Young Artists Conservatory Chicago Student Composition Workshop | Chicago, Illinois (June 29 - July 17)  

This workshop provides young aspiring composers of all levels with a nurturing yet intense environment to hone their craft. Participants receive one on one lessons and group instruction on topics surrounding composition. The workshop culminates in a performance of the student compositions.

Music Institute of Chicago Advanced Piano Camp | Lake Forest Campus, IL (June 10 - June 14)  

Designed for advanced piano students, this four-day camp, students will receive lessons, master classes, symposiums, and performance opportunities from a MIC faculty member.  

MIC Piano Concerto Summer Program: From Soloist to Collaborator | Winnetka Campus, IL (June 10 - July 8)  

This program focuses on developing essential concerto skills through concentrated solo study.  
 
Oberlin Piano Festival 2026 | Oberlin, Ohio (July 12 - July 23)    

This two-week Festival is designed for advanced pianists from the ages of 12 to18. The festival features private lessons, master class, technique sessions, an optional competition, and a concert in Oberlin Conservatory's Warner Concert Hall.

Summer School | Deerfield High School (June 8 - June 25)  
 

Arise Conference 2026 | Kenosha, WI (July 23 - July 26)    

Arise Conference is a Christian youth camp designed to help students grow in faith through worship, biblical teaching, and meaningful community.

Sonoro Interferențe | Arad, Romania (June 8 - 15)   

A weeklong intensive chamber music program, where selected students perform alongside some of Europe's leading musicians. Students also have the opportunity to take private lessons with each of the professors.    

Festival Academy Budapest | Budapest, Hungary (July 1 - 15)   

This two-week program offers Master classes, private lessons, orchestra, and daily concerts. Faculty include Mihaela Martin, Ilya Gringolts, Barnabas Kelemen and So-ock Kim.  

Sonoro Musikland | Romania (July 17 - August 1)   

A festival that brings classical music to small towns in Transylvania, aiming to spread the influence of music.   

Cooper Violin Competition | Oberlin, Ohio (August 4 -10)  

Sebastian was selected as a semifinalist in this prestigious competition for high school violinists.

National History Day Contest | University of Maryland, MD (June 14 - 18) 

Three-tiered academic competition where students dive deeply into historical topics based on an annual theme. Representing Illinois, Edie will present her research paper on “The Ties that Divided Rome: Marriage Alliances in the Gracchan Reforms”  

Ruth Monte Bach Competition | Northwestern University, IL (June 19 - 21) 

Organized by the American Bach Society, preselected 9 semifinalists will gather at Northwestern University for competitions, masterclass, lecture, one on one sessions, and concerts.  

SNP Reach 2026 | Stanford University, CA (July 6 - 17) 

SNP Reach stands for Stanford Neurodiversity Project - Research, Education, and Advocacy Camp for High Schoolers. During the two-week, students have a variety of opportunities from learning more about neurodiversity advocacy to the strengths-based model to universal design principles and more.   

Bowdoin International Music Festival | Brunswick, ME (July 18 - Aug 8) 

A 3-week summer institute and concert series in Brunswick, Maine that provides exceptional young musicians with world-class chamber music instruction.  

Internship at Harlan J. Berk, Ltd. | Chicago, IL (June - Aug) 

A renowned institute of numismatics and antiquities located in downtown Chicago. Edie's role includes assisting with collection management, transcribing historical documents, and translating Latin texts.

The Berkeley Early Music Festival | San Francisco, California (June 6-14) 

This festival and exhibition is produced by the San Francisco Early Music Society and features 21 main stage concerts, a three-day exhibition, community workshops, and dozens of Fringe presentations.  


Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin College and Conservatory | Oberlin, Ohio (June 14-28) 

This workshop focuses on baroque instruments and voice, preparing advanced musicians of all baroque levels to perform works of the 16th-18th centuries on period instruments. Participants learn from faculty and resident artists in master classes, recitals, and lectures while practicing baroque performance techniques.  

Music at Port Milford Senior Summer Chamber Music Academy | Ontario, Canada (July 12-August 2) 

An immersive chamber music program for dedicated music students. The program features weekly performances of chamber, orchestral, and choral works.

Arianna Chamber Music Festival  | St. Louis, Missouri (June 8-18) 

A festival open to violinists, violists, and cellists seeking an engaging and intensive summer music experience. Participants expand their musicianship and technique through concentrated study and public performance of chamber music repertoire. The Arianna String Quartet leads coachings, individual lessons, and masterclasses devoted to rehearsal and practice techniques, problem solving, and score study.

Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Summer Strings Academy  | Bloomington, Indiana (June 20-July 18) 

The Summer String Academy, which began in 1984, offers serious young string players between the ages of 12 and 18 an intensive and varied program under the direction of an outstanding faculty at one of the world’s most renowned schools of music. Featured are private lessons, chamber music, master classes, performance opportunities, practice time, and the 2026 Indiana University Summer Music Festival. Summer String Academy graduates are performing and teaching throughout the world.

The festival offers string players the opportunity to deepen their musical and instrumental skill through study with world renowned faculty members in private lessons, master classes, chamber music, performance opportunities, faculty concerts, coachings, and musical enrichment. Sal will be studying with Dr. Ching-Yi Lin.  

The Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival Senior Program | Colchester, Vermont (June 28-July 26) 

A 4-week summer program in Vermont for advanced young string players ages 14-28, focused on intensive chamber music coaching, private lessons, and both solo and chamber performances. Sal will be studying with Aimee Kreston.

Kronberg Academy Chamber Music Connects the World | Kronberg, Germany (May 8-17) 
A spring festival of chamber music that expresses what drives the Kronberg Academy: the joy of making music together and the power to touch people with music. For ten days, public rehearsals and concerts, full of energy and poetry, allow audiences to experience these musical encounters. 

 
Perlman Music Program Chamber Workshop | Shelter Island, NY (May 29-June 21) 
The Chamber Music Workshop (CMW) invites young artists to explore musicianship at the highest level. Led by esteemed cellist and educator Merry Peckham, 40 musicians ages 18 and up take part in masterclasses, chamber music “marathon” weekends, salons hosted in private homes, a vibrant chorus, and more. 

 
Ravinia Steans Institute | Highland Park, IL (June 21-July 25) 
The Piano & Strings Program focuses on interpreting classical sonatas and chamber music through deep collaboration in small groups. Each season, about 30 violinists, violists, cellists, and pianists come together for an immersive experience. They engage in intensive rehearsals and receive guidance from leading artists, who help them refine their craft and enhance their interpretive skills and creative insights.
