Meet the Newest Members of the Music Institute of Chicago Community

The Music Institute of Chicago is thrilled to share four important appointments that will strengthen our leadership team and expand our capacity to support our faculty, serve our students and families, grow enrollment, and advance our mission.
These new leaders bring deep experience in music education, program development, community engagement, operations, and fundraising. Together, they will help us build stronger connections across programs and campuses while ensuring that faculty, students, and families have the support they need to thrive.

Louis Privitera, Vice President of Programs
Louis will provide strategic leadership for MIC’s music school programs, faculty, enrollment, retention, and the overall student and family experience. As a visible and accessible partner to faculty, he will focus on strengthening communication and collaboration, supporting faculty success, and creating a unified experience across our campuses and program areas.
Working closely with faculty and staff, Louis will also help strengthen our educational pathways, develop new opportunities for students, and build the systems and partnerships needed to support MIC’s continued growth.

Sarah Beske, Senior Director of Programs
Sarah will work closely with Louis, our Campus Directors, Program Chairs, faculty, Student Services, and Marketing to strengthen and connect MIC’s comprehensive range of programs. Her work will focus on program development, enrollment growth, student engagement, retention, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to continue learning and growing at MIC.
Sarah will also support the development and evaluation of group classes, ensembles, early childhood programs, music theory, chamber music, adult learning, summer programming, and other initiatives designed to respond to the evolving needs of our students and families.

Anthony Petrucci, Winnetka Campus Director
Anthony will oversee operations and enrollment at Winnetka, MIC’s largest campus, while serving as a welcoming and responsive resource for faculty, students, and families. He will help guide families from their initial inquiry through placement and enrollment, support student retention, coordinate scheduling and campus programming, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Anthony will also partner with faculty and staff to strengthen communication, support student success, and build greater visibility and engagement for MIC throughout the Winnetka community.

Justin Berkowitz, Director of Individual Giving
Justin will lead MIC’s individual giving program and help grow the contributed revenue that sustains our programs, scholarships, faculty, and broader mission. He will advance our donor cultivation and stewardship program, strengthen relationships with individual supporters, and build a comprehensive pipeline of annual, mid-level, and major gifts.
Justin will also develop new opportunities for alumni, parents, and community members to become more deeply involved in MIC, including the creation of alumni and parent councils that will help expand engagement, strengthen relationships, and build a broader community of ambassadors for our work.
These appointments represent a meaningful investment in MIC’s people, programs, and future. By adding leadership capacity in these critical areas, we are creating a stronger foundation for faculty support, enrollment and retention, student engagement, operational excellence, and long-term financial sustainability.
