Jazz Studies
MIC Jazz Studies Program
The Music Institute of Chicago provides opportunities for students of all ages and levels to explore jazz through private instruction, combos and improvisation classes. Work with a jazz faculty that includes some of Chicago's most respected jazz musicians as they bring their deep knowledge of both jazz history and the current scene into every class and lesson. MIC jazz students become leaders in their middle and high school jazz programs and enjoy performance opportunities at Nichols Concert Hall as well as community venues. Teachers nurture each student's skill and style development as they learn to play by ear and improvise.
