Collin Anderson attended the Eastman School of Music, earning a Bachelor of Music Degree in Bassoon Performance in 1989. He also completed a Master's Degree in Performance in 1991 at Kent State University. In addition, Mr. Anderson received a Master of Music Degree in Composition in 1996 from DePaul University, and a Doctoral Degree in Composition from Northwestern University.

Significant teachers and mentors: 

Significant teachers/mentors of Collin's over the years include those with whom he studied when he was attending college, such as David Van Hoesen from the Eastman School of Music, and David DeBolt from Kent State University.

Awards and achievements: 

One of Collin's biggest achievements is his recording. Collin can be heard on the Chandos label (Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Hickox - Prokofiev's War & Peace) and Equilibrium Records (Chicago Philharmonic, Rachleff - Music of Jan Bach).

Professional affiliations & activities: 

Collin performs regularly with both the Elgin and Lake Forest Symphonies.  He has appeared with the Chicago Opera Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Grant Park Orchestra.  Collin is not only a practicing musician, but he is also a teacher, currently instructing bassoon at Northeastern Illinois University, North Park University, and Harper College.
